Welcome to Askern Radio Sailing Club's Website.
We welcome anyone to visit us at the Blue Lagoon any Wednesday, Thursday or Sunday and join in the fun.
Sailing starts at around 10 am with the first race underway at 10:30am.
There are no charges to come along and "have a go" but we do think it appropriate to join Askern RSC if you catch the bug and want to come regularly.
Members would be happy to advise in getting you started in the sport, including tips on building, tuning and sailing.

We race four classes of yacht.
The first class is the IOM (International One Meter).
Since its inception in the late 1980’s the International One Metre (IOM) has become the most popular class in the UK.
The second class is the Dragon Flite 95.
This is a one class boat. This boat is bought ready made to a fixed design providing a level playing field for racing.
The Third class is the A class
Boats in this IRSA A class are not limited in length, but are controlled by a formula which demands a balance between waterline length, displacement and sail area. Sails get smaller as displacement reduces and as waterline length increases. The formula was devised in 1922 by the editor of the Yachting Monthly as a testing ground for later use in the full sized 5.5 Metre class rule. A fleet of ‘A Class’ boats is an impressive and awesome sight.
The Fourth class is the Marblehead
The Marblehead class (M) is probably the most exciting to sail with its minimal rule structure and modern construction techniques a modern M will usually be made of carbon fibre and kevlar with full carbon rigs. The rules do allow for most boats from the mid 90’s onward to be modernised and still hold their own in current fleets.
